About

I am originally from Canada and I first came to Edinburgh on holiday in 2019 and I quickly fell in love with the city and have called it home since 2021.

Like many visitors, I arrived eager to see the famous landmarks. But it wasn’t long before I discovered that the real magic of Edinburgh lies beyond the guidebooks. From wandering hidden closes and exploring centuries of history to finding independent cafes, cosy pubs and the vibrant waterfront of Leith. I have spent years getting to know the city as both a visitor and now a local.

Friends and family visiting from Canada would tell me how much they appreciated having someone who knew which attractions were genuinely worth visiting and where to find the hidden gems they never would have discovered on their own. Those experiences inspired me to create The Edinburgh Maple.

Whether you are visiting for the first time or returning to explore more of what it has to offer, I would love to show you the places that made me fall in love with Scotland.
